Due to ongoing dry conditions and high winds, White County has been placed under a burn ban effective March 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Officials are urging all residents to refrain from any open flame burning to prevent the risk of dangerous wildfires.

Why Is the Burn Ban Necessary?
With little to no recent rainfall and strong winds in the forecast, fires can spread rapidly and become uncontrollable. Even small outdoor burns, such as burning leaves or debris, pose a serious threat to homes, property, and public safety.
What You Need to Know:
• No outdoor burning is allowed – This includes burning brush, leaves, or other debris.
• Use caution with flammable materials – Avoid activities that could cause sparks, such as grilling, welding, or discarding cigarette butts outdoors.
• Report any wildfires immediately – If you see smoke or fire, call 911 and provide the location.
Authorities will continue to monitor conditions and update the community as needed. Please do your part to help keep White County safe by following the burn ban guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation!
