Bald Knob Public Schools Exploring 4-Day School Week for 2025-2026

Bald Knob Public Schools is considering a significant change that could impact students, staff, and families: the transition to a 4-day school week. While no final decision has been made, the district is actively gathering information and seeking community input to determine whether this shift would be beneficial.

Below is an official letter from Superintendent Dr. Davis regarding the matter:

Letter from Dr. Davis, Superintendent

Bald Knob Public Schools is currently exploring the possibility of transitioning to a 4-day school week for the 2025-2026 school year. While no decision has been made, we are gathering information to help us determine if this change would benefit our students, staff, and families.

To help you better understand what we are considering, we have put together and attached a FAQ document that provides a lot of information about the potential change. We encourage you to review it carefully so you have a clear understanding of the details.

Your input is extremely important to us as we consider this option. To ensure we hear from you, we will be sending out a survey to the email address you have on file with the school. Please take a few minutes to complete it once it arrives — your feedback will play a critical role in our decision-making process.

Again, no final decision has been made. We are simply exploring the idea and want to understand how it could impact our families and community.

Thank you for being a valuable part of our school district, and we appreciate your time and input.

Sincerely,

Dr. Davis

Superintendent, Bald Knob Public Schools

What This Means for Our Community

The idea of a 4-day school week has gained traction in various districts across the country, with reported benefits such as improved student and teacher morale, reduced absenteeism, and potential cost savings. However, it also comes with challenges, such as childcare needs and adjustments to curriculum pacing.

Bald Knob Public Schools is taking a thorough approach to this potential transition by providing an FAQ document to address common questions and concerns. Additionally, the district is conducting a survey to gather feedback from parents, staff, and community members.

How You Can Get Involved

• Review the FAQ Document – The district has prepared an informational resource to help families understand the potential changes.

• Complete the Survey – Keep an eye on your email for the official survey. Your feedback is essential in shaping the district’s decision.

• Stay Informed – Follow updates from the school district and attend any community meetings that may be scheduled to discuss this proposal.

At this stage, no final decision has been made, and the district is committed to making an informed choice based on community input. Bald Knob Public Schools appreciates the engagement and support of families as they explore this possibility.

Stay tuned for further updates, and don’t forget to participate in the survey when it arrives!
